UNDERWATER ANIMALS. The video of the birth of an octopus, published on the Facebook page of the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, has become viral. The video, which lasts only 10 seconds, shows the instant of the birth of a Caribbean octopus from a bunch of eggs. As soon as it is born, the critter is of the same colour as the eggs, clear and almost transparent, but it is immediately coloured by the typical brown tone of octopus, perhaps due to the instinct of camouflaging itself. The baby then starts to shake the tentacles and disappears very quickly from the camera’s view.
